After a long and outstanding academic career Bas de Gaay Fortman will deliver his valedictory address as Chair in Political Economy of Human Rights at Utrecht University. The Netherlands Institute of Human Rights (SIM) feels grateful for the many years he shared his knowledge and insights with students, colleagues and the outside world. On the occasion of his farewell, SIM organises a conference on human rights and conflict on 9 and 10 September 2010.
